Why It Matters

Georgetown Arts at The Old School (formerly the Cultural Arts Program) enriches our mountain community with world-class concerts at the Old School, the Plein Air Arts Festival, and weekly concerts in Library Park on Saturdays during the summer.

These programs create joy, connect neighbors, and bring visitors to the historic Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District.

But ticket sales and festival fees don’t cover the true cost of great art. The price of producing these events, staffing, and attracting world-class musicians continues to rise. We need your support to continue to provide the quality programming you’ve come to love. Together, we can sustain a vibrant arts scene in Georgetown for generations to come.

Every dollar helps keep the arts alive. Here’s what your contribution supports:

  • Four concerts each year at The Old School

  • The Plein Air Arts Festival, attracting artists from across the country

  • Mountain Jams partnership, free music in Library Park Saturdays during the summer

  • A legacy of art and culture in historic Georgetown

Over the years, generous donors have come together to restore the Old School concert space. Now, it’s our turn to carry the legacy forward. When you give, you join a team of supporters who keep the arts thriving in our town.

The Match Challenge

Right now, your donation goes twice as far. Local residents Beth Montgomery and Matthew Brown have pledged to match the first $10,000 raised, dollar for dollar. That means your $100 gift becomes $200.

Let’s meet this challenge together and raise $25,000 by December 1, 2025.

Georgetown Arts at The Old School

Georgetown Arts at The Old School was first established to offer signature art and culture programs to the community in the fully restored Old School in historic Georgetown. The program utilizes the Old School’s spaces to present arts and culture programming that interprets the art of the Georgetown-Silver Plume Historic Landmark District from the past to the present, providing much-needed community programming for Clear Creek County, Summit County, the Denver Metro Area, and other surrounding areas.

The arts program is brought to you by the Georgetown Trust. From summer concerts in Library Park to the Plein Air Festival and Bighorn Sheep Festival, we create experiences that connect people, celebrate the arts, and preserve our unique history.

A New Chapter for Our Library and the Arts

The Georgetown Trust is partnering with Clear Creek Library District to bring new life to the Old School. Soon, the building will become home to our Georgetown library, and through collaboration, the Trust will continue to host concerts and cultural events at the Old School. Our library will thrive with more space and improved facilities, while the Old School remains a hub for arts, culture, and history.

Together, the Trust and the Library will ensure the historic Old School continues to serve Georgetown for generations to come.

  • Your gift funds world-class concerts at the Old School, the Plein Air Arts Festival, and free community concerts in Library Park.

  • The Georgetown Trust is working on an agreement to sell the Old School to the Clear Creek Library District. This move allows the Georgetown Library to expand into a larger, more accessible space — a huge benefit to our community.

  • Yes! As part of our partnership with the Library, the Trust will continue to host concerts and community events in the Old School, just as we always have.

  • While the Library will own and operate the building, the Trust funds and organizes arts and cultural programming throughout Georgetown. These events make our town a vibrant place to live and visit, but unfortunately ticket sales and fees don’t cover the full cost of world-class programming. Therefore community support is essential.
